Sonoma County Layout Tours Saturday July 1
July 1 @ 8:30 am - 2:30 pm PDT
On July 1 railroads in Sonoma County will be open. Click here for a map of the area and layout locations. In addition, there will be an opportunity to ride the Redwood Empire Live Steamers 7 ½-inch gauge steam train.
Visiting the railroads is FREE for convention registrants who self-drive and no additional registration is required.
Bus transportation is available for convention registrants who don’t want to drive to the railroads. Buses will leave from the Hampton Inn Rohnert Park convention hotel around 8:45 am and return to the hotel around 2:30 pm to permit a rest period and transportation to the Herzog BBQ. Please note: there are no buses from Santa Clara going to events on July 1 or July 2.

Later, enjoy a delicious West Coast style BBQ, entertainment, and three garden railroads at the railroad empire of Don and Becky Herzog. Cost of the BBQ is $35 and may be purchased here. Bus transportation is again available for convention registrants who don’t want to drive to the Herzog BBQ. The Herzog BBQ Bus leaves the hotel around 3:30 pm and returns to the hotel around 8:30 pm. Bus tickets are also $40 per person and may be purchased here.
